Rotary Achievements
The purpose of the Rotary Club of Mount Dora is to be a service organization for Mount Dora and the surrounding areas. Below is a list of some of the ways we help the community.
  • Provided upwards of $16,000.00 yearly in Scholarships to graduating High School Seniors.
  • Presented the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and sponsored high school sophomores and juniors on a three-day Leadership Conference delivered by Rotary International.
  • Sponsor the annual Old Fashion 4th of July Parade/Event in downtown Mount Dora .
  • Provided a Christmas Party for the HRS children who live at the Mount Dora Christian Home & Bible School. Rotarians donated a gift for each child, served pizza and cookies, and invite Santa to spend some time with them.
  • Held Casino Night and Reverse Auction Fundraiser open to the community for a "Fun Night" out.
  • Chicken Dinner events were hosted by the Mount Dora Rotary Club raising money for scholarships.
  • Mount Dora Rotarians raise funds by parking cars in a lot donated by the Hobscott Pet Supplies during the Mount Dora Crafts Fair and Art Festival as a fundraiser.
  • Every Quarter Mount Dora Rotary holds a auction at a weekly meeting. Our goal is to raise $250.00 per auction.
  • Provided a local disabled camper a week stay at Amputee Camp.
  • Each year a Speech Contest is held to help build self confidence in High School students. Prizes are awarded.
  • Mount Dora Rotary along with the Kiwanis Club in 2004 jointly raise the cost of building a Habitat for Humanity house in Mount Dora.
  • Rotary financially supports the following on an ongoing basis: YMCA, Anthony House, Sunrise Arc, Mount Dora Library Association, Interact Club, Project Graduation, Scout Reach Campership Fund, Polio Plus, Mount Dora High School Music Department, & Cottage Education.
  • A Golf Tournament is sponsored by Rotary each year to raise funds for our many donations.
